Webster, Texas is located 20 miles south of Downtown Houston and is situated between HWY 3 and I-45. The town was formed in 1879 by James W. Webster and was originally named Gardentown. In its early days the town hosted several market gardeners and livestock dealers. By 1904 seventy Japanese farmers settled in Webster TX. These farmers experimented in growing oranges and rice in the hearty Texas soil. From this point on Webster fluctuated in population but always kept its commerce alive.
